ABA Services

Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts will develop an individual treatment plan for each child that meets the goals of each child and family. All ABA treatment programs are reviewed weekly by BCBAs to assess treatment effectiveness and all clients receive the maximum number of supervision hours per month.

Skill Acquisition

All skills will be taught using a combination of discrete trial teaching with systematic instruction, in addition to naturalistic teaching procedures in which we utilize the natural environment and client initiations to teach new skills. Our Registered Behavior Technicians will collect extensive data regarding your child’s progress each session which will be shared with parents and used by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts to guide all treatment decisions.

Treatment for Problem Behaviors

CPABA Therapy offers intensive behavioral support for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who engage in problem behavior. CPABA Therapy will conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment or Functional Analysis to determine why the problem behavior is occurring. Once the reason or function for the behavior is known, CPABA Therapy will develop a treatment plan to reduce problem behaviors and increase appropriate behaviors. We are fully committed to training parents and equipping them with the tools to successfully manage problem behaviors at home and in the community.

Behaviors We Treat

  • Communication Deficits
  • Self Injurious behavior
  • Aggression
  • Elopement
  • Tantrums
  • Food refusal or problems during meal times
  • Non-compliance
  • Stereotypical behaviors
  • Property destruction

We offer a unique group setting for preschool aged learners who will be transitioning to school. While in the Social Learning group setting, children are engaged in activities such as circle time, centers, art, and music. Every learner is paired with their own RBT and programming is individualized to incorporate critical social skills such as participating in a large group, functional communication, and following instructions.

Parental involvement in your child’s therapy is essential. Studies show that children whose parents are actively engaged in the process make measurable gains. At CPABA Therapy, we believe in an Open Door Policy, meaning our parents are always free to sit in on their child’s session or watch remotely via our HIPPA compliant video chatting software. A critical component of your child’s treatment is parent training, the frequency of which will be individualized based on your family’s needs. Your child’s BCBA will meet with you to train you on the basic principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, how to work with your child on skill acquisition, and how to implement your child’s individualized behavior plan at home and in the community. Parents are also expected to participate in home data collection as required by insurance.
